We enjoy answering questions about what we do. In our business, there is a lot to know.
We don’t claim to know it all, but one thing we do know is that sharing our knowledge helps us and our clients work smarter. Throughout our history, TEK Productions has been involved in educating industry professionals on the technical side of live-event and media production.
TEK Tips is a resource for the event community. This resource is mostly limited to terms and guidelines for use in the media production and live-event environment.

House Lights Control
A device which allows for simultaneous control of all the permanent facility lighting in a meeting room or show venue from one central location.
The house lights control unit is provided by the venue. Rather than controlling the house lights in sections at each wall panel, this device routes all house lights to the tech booth. From there, the LD can adjust the house light levels when videos are played, during audience Q&A, etc. The charge for the device may be included in the contract for the room.
It is important to confirm that the house lighting in your room is isolated from adjoining rooms. Lighting control can be linked together or separated in many venues based on the air wall configuration.
