We enjoy answering questions about what we do. In our business, there is a lot to know.
We don’t claim to know it all, but one thing we do know is that sharing our knowledge helps us and our clients work smarter. Throughout our history, TEK Productions has been involved in educating industry professionals on the technical side of live-event and media production.
TEK Tips is a resource for the event community. This resource is mostly limited to terms and guidelines for use in the media production and live-event environment.

Glossary
Editor [Video]
Responsible for assembling video segments using computer editing equipment under the direction of the video producer.
An editor’s skills are both technical and creative. Responsibilities include capturing the footage (digitizing), designing graphics, mixing audio, assembling the segment and outputting a finished product.
The editing process is constantly changing with advancements in digital technology. What once required a fully equipped edit suite can now be accomplished on a laptop. Editors often work overnight (see candids video), so if you want an editor to like you, we suggest gifts of Twinkies and Red Bull.
