Windows Media Video

A compressed video file format designed by Microsoft.

The file extension associated with Windows Media Video is .wmv. PC users can play back .wmv files by downloading the free Windows Media Player software. Macintosh users can download a plug-in for QuickTime called Flip4Mac™ which allows them to view .wmv files. You can download the free Windows Media Player and the Flip4Mac™ plug-in for QuickTime here.

By sending .wmv files to clients over an FTP site, clients can view progress or approve video projects remotely.
