Moiré

The ripple effect evident on-screen created by the weave or pattern of some clothing.

TEK Tips Moire

Moiré (pronounced more-A) is most evident in fabrics with an intricate pattern, like houndstooth. The way a camera samples the pattern creates a pulsing effect that is very distracting when viewed on a screen.

Certain colors, patterns and styles of wardrobe should be considered before appearing on camera.
