We enjoy answering questions about what we do. In our business, there is a lot to know.
We don’t claim to know it all, but one thing we do know is that sharing our knowledge helps us and our clients work smarter. Throughout our history, TEK Productions has been involved in educating industry professionals on the technical side of live-event and media production.
TEK Tips is a resource for the event community. This resource is mostly limited to terms and guidelines for use in the media production and live-event environment.

Scenic
Decorative elements used to create a stage set or themed environment.
Scenic elements are constructed and installed by scenic shops that employ skilled craftsmen and artisans who work in a variety of trades. Depending upon the design, scenic pieces can consist of wood frame or metal construction and can be finished with paint, fabric, plastic, fiberglass, etc. Scenery is designed and built based on the vision of the Production Designer, Art Director, or Producer.
Some scenic companies have rental scenic pieces and "stock sets" that can be installed at a fraction of the cost of a custom-built set. A hard surround is an example of a scenic element that is stocked for standard screen sizes.
