We enjoy answering questions about what we do. In our business, there is a lot to know.
We don’t claim to know it all, but one thing we do know is that sharing our knowledge helps us and our clients work smarter. Throughout our history, TEK Productions has been involved in educating industry professionals on the technical side of live-event and media production.
TEK Tips is a resource for the event community. This resource is mostly limited to terms and guidelines for use in the media production and live-event environment.

Speaker Notes
The presenter’s notes in slide form viewable only to the presenter in the DSMs (downstage monitors).
Speaker notes in the DSMs are a discreet way for presenters to reference their talking points while still having the flexibility to walk the stage and maintain eye contact with the audience. This is not an ideal method of teleprompting because the presenter can only cue the graphics operator to advance either the speaker notes or the presentation slides. True speaker notes in script form should be done with a teleprompter.
Speaker notes have also been called kicker slides.
